What a day

Well, I'll start off with the good news. The week up until today has been wonderful. We celebrated Grandma Jean's birthday on Monday and had a good time. I'll post pictures later. Then yesterday Matt and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary with an AWESOME dinner at Perry's. That was my first time their and it was delicious. So at least the first half of our week was good.

And then today....I went to check my checking account online and found that someone had decided to have a nice Valentine's day on my dime! Yep - $1200 worth of counterfeit checks were written against my account using fake checks. All within 4 hours on the same day. Luckily it was my Woodforest account and since I work there, I marched downstairs to our fraud department and the money was back on my account that day. It looks to be local as they were all local places but they have my drivers license number, date of birth and expiration date. So far they have only created checks with my info, no credit cards yet. For the next several months I'll be on the lookout for identity theft...fun! So I had to leave work early to go file a police report, which is an experience all by itself. I finished that, walked out to my car, started to drive away but before I even got out of the parking lot I saw a woman laying on the ground convulsing and a guy holding her. So I stopped, asked if they needed help, then ran back in the police station for help. While they were calling for help inside, I was helping the women on the ground trying to make sure she didn't get up as she was really confused and dazed. Long story short, she had a seizure for some reason and once ems came I left. What a day. Oh, and I left out the part where I spilled my lunch all down my shirt and had to go change at lunch....ahhhh.

But, we were reminded these past couple of days how precious life is. My mom had a friend pass away on Tuesday and Matt just found out an old neighbor of his that was his age passed away this week as well. So, even with the bad day I had, we are reminded everyday how fortunate we are and things could be much worse. If all I have to worry about is someone writing checks with my name, my life is pretty good :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Post Valentine's Day! Hope everyone had a great day. We spent the day with our greatest valentine and had a nice dinner at home. We HATE fighting crowds on Valentine's and since our anniversary is later this week we usually combine the two dates and have one really nice dinner. As for Haley, she enjoyed McDonalds, which I'm betting would be fine with her for every meal.
Her ear infection seems to be much better. She has a few more days on her antibotic and luckily Granpda Jeff (who is a pharamacist) recommended getting her medicine flavored. I've had no problems getting Haley to take it all each day. Looks like we're over our first ear infection and hopefully it will be the last! Other then that, the week was pretty unadventerous, or at least as normal as it can be with a toddler :) Have a great week!!

Wow, look how much I have grown in 1 year...

Dr. Appt

What a difference a few days make. Haley has been fighting this cold/runny nose/coughing thing for almost 2 weeks now. Her nose was starting to get better and we thought we were over the bad stuff, until yesterday. She had trouble sleeping for a few nights but we just thought it was because she was congested. Then yesterday she was very sleepy and fussy most of the day. We decided to take her temp and it was 103! Don't I feel horrible for not taking it before. We finally got it down some with Tylenol but took her to the dr. this am. He took one quick look and gave the diagnosis: Bad Ear Infection. He gave her an antibotic so we'll see how she does. This is her first time to ever get any medicine and her first ear infection. Not bad for 16 months. We did see she officially weighs 20.2 lbs (with clothes and shoes on). Hopefully she'll start feeling better soon and start eating again soon. I'm working from home today so better get back!!

Here's some pics from Saturday when she was feeling better.

I AM just like my Daddy...I love chips and queso

Fashion Show

This week we have been fighting off illness. Tuesday Haley started with a little snotty nose. On Wednesday, Grandma was sick and couldn't watch her so Matt and I split the day to stay home with Haley. Haley by then had a really really snotty nose. I'll spare all the details but needless to say I'm sick now and Matt sounds like he is coming down with it too. At least we are keeping Kleenex in business.
Even with feeling a little under the weather, Haley has been a character this week. I call it her fashion show. Let's walk thru it...

Tuesday...doing a throwback to Michael Jackson with the one handed glove. We tried to get her to do the moonwalk but that didn't go over to well.
Thursday...ode to the plumber's crack.
Friday...another 80's thowback...leg warmers. These are actually my socks that she LOVES for some reason so Matt put them on her and she wouldn't take them off. Who cares that they do not match and her pants are up to her chest..she thinks she looks GOOD. Makes me want to bust out the Olivia Netwon John and sing Let's Get Physical
Hope you enjoyed her fashion show. I'm sure there will be more to come.
Saturday we decided to enjoy the nice weather outside. Here's Haley trying to catch up to Buster to take him on a walk.
She caught him and walked for awhile but looks like she forgets to hold on to him. Then he runs around and she can't grab the leash again.
Sunday morning and her first golf lesson with Daddy. And yes, those are the socks/leg warmers again. At least this time they are matching. Guess Mom's socks are better then shoes any day.
